Giggles & Gumdrops

Lowell, Michigan   April 8, 2010 – Shopping for your children just got a whole lot easier and more affordable for Lowell area families.  A new children’s store, Giggles & Gumdrops, will celebrate their grand opening Saturday, April 24th .  Giggles & Gumdrops operates on a consignment platform offering high-quality used merchandise to the community at a fraction of retail as well as offering local parents the opportunity to sell their own gently-used items.  “In today’s economy, it is important to make sure every penny counts.  At Giggles & Gumdrops, we allow customers’ dollars to stretch further, provide an opportunity for them to earn cash, and do a great service for the environment,” says owner Melissa Freeman.

An avid thrift and garage sale shopper, Melissa realized that parents had very few options when outfitting their children here in Lowell.  “Opening a child-friendly store that both parents and children will enjoy coming to was high on my list of priorities.”  Parents will enjoy a stroller friendly layout, quality merchandise, low prices, and an unpretentious shopping environment.  Children will love coming to play with everything from the kitchen to the train table to the current toys on the selling floor.  Even hard-to-fit preteens can find clothing here! Also, being a consignment platform, parents can bring their gently-used children’s items in and Giggles & Gumdrops will pay them cash when their items sell.
